Hello, my wife Peggy and I have been creators off and on throughout the past 43+ years. Peg is a marvelous painter as well as dabbling in various other mediums, including needlework, clay and paper crafting, jewelry and wirework. I started whittling wood even before my Navy days (way back in 1974) and continued to whittle away during spare time at sea. When Peg and I met in 1979 I started to branch out a bit and began carving wood during the little bit of spare time I had between work and raising a family. Since then I’ve taken Blacksmith classes at our local historical museum and picked up some of the tools needed to blacksmith at home during the summer months.
Peggy and I have enjoyed working together on numerous projects during our many years together. Although I don’t have an eye for color, I can always turn to her when my carvings need painting. Since retiring in 2020, I’ve carved my way through several hundred sculptures and board feet of Bass Wood. I’m hoping I can learn to paint in the not too distant future and assist Peggy with that finishing touch to our works of art.
